Comeback and return is a collection of photographs that focuses on the facades of different cities that Pietro Sabatelli visits. The project started in 2018 and continues to evolve today. The focus is on the sculpturality of the facades and the details they contain. Each city has its own language and signs. These details are archived and used as sources of inspiration for the artist's plastic work. The concept of Comeback and return questions the contemporary experience of recurrent geographical displacement in Western society. (For travel, professional or private reasons).

Tense geometry

Dresden, Germany - 2021 - in constant development

"Tense Geometry" is a collection of photographs that focuses on the tensioned cables of Dresden's trams. The project started on 19 December 2021 and continues to evolve. The collection contains a maximum of 34 digital colour photographs and is constantly in motion. This means that the photographs are replaced as they are taken in order to correspond to what Pietro Sabatelli is looking for at a given moment in his artistic development. Pietro Sabatelli archives different parts that can be seen on the tram cables and which serve to tighten them, to connect them and to create changes of direction. An important parameter that guides the series of photographs "Tense Geometry" is the cloudy, grey and lightly rainy weather, in order to make the colours disappear to the untrained eye and get closer to black and white, although they are colour photographs.
