Vita

Pietro Sabatelli, born in 1979 in Liège (Belgium), has been living and working in Dresden since 2013. After training as a graphic designer in Belgium in 2005, he applied for the painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 2011. In 2012 he will attend the sculpture course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. 2013 he receives the Erasmus scholarship to study with Prof. Monika Brandmeier at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. In 2017 he received the Cusanuswerk Grant. In the winter semester 2017 and 2018 he leads two D-ART drawing courses at the Dresden University of the Fine Arts. He graduated in 2018 with Prof. Monika Brandmeier and began master studies with Prof. Wolfgang Scheffer at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. In 2020 he is a finalist for the Caspar David Friedrich Grant. In 2023 he received a work grant from the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen for the project "5 jours, 4 nuits et l'in-fini."
